Adding Video to Your Social Content Strategy

A strategy guide by Meltwater and ReMake.

We all know video is king when it comes to content, so it probably won’t surprise you to learn that it’s getting even bigger - go figure!

A growing number of brands now use video as a key component of their content marketing mix. Recent research shows that 92% of marketers who use video say that it's an important part of their strategy. With a seemingly insatiable consumer appetite for video content, brands that overlook the format risk missing huge opportunities.

This applies to both B2C and B2B brands. Think of it this way, we all know that people prefer to absorb information in different ways; text, images, audio and video will have more of an impact for different people depending on their personal preferences. When you search for information on the internet, you might be the kind of person who instinctively chooses a written article from the results, or you might be the kind who always goes to a video first.

If a brand doesn’t produce any video content, the chances are it’s not going to reach a whole section of its potential audience that prefers that format. Video can be incredibly persuasive, with 85% of consumers saying they’ve been convinced to buy a product or service after watching a brand’s video.

In short, now is the time to be upping your video game. And if you’re yet to start, then we strongly suggest you do.

Cue our friends at Melwater’s latest strategy guide: Adding Video to your Social Content Strategy - in partnership with ReMake.
